Pin Oak Quercus palustris Hardiness : Zone 4 - 8 The pin oak grows 60 - 70' in height with a spread of 25 - 40'.  Leaves are a lustrous dark green above, lighter green beneath.  Changes to russet, bronze or red in fall.  The nut is 1/2" high, 2/3 to 3/4" wide, nearly hemispherical.
