Hardiness : Zone 3b - 7

The Northern Red Oak can grow 60 - 75' in height and spread.  Rounded in

youth, in old age often round topped and symmetrical.  Leaves are a dark

green above and grayish or whitish or sometimes pale yellow - green beneath. 

Change to russet red to bright red in fall.  The nut can be solitary or paired and

is usually 3/4 - 1" long.
