Lupine Lupinus                     Hardiness: Zone 3 - 9 Lupines should be planted in well drained, slightly acidic, sandy soil.  They need plenty of water in the growing season and should be mulched in dry areas.  Most lupines prefer climates with cool wet winters and long dry summers.  Spent flowers should be cut away to prolong plant life and to prevent self seeding.
