Bur Oak Quercus macrocarpa Hardiness : Zone 3 - 8 The Bur Oak, also called the Mossycup Oak, grows 70 - 80' high with an equal or slightly greater spread.   Leaf color is dark green in summer; fall color is dull yellow - green, yellow, to yellow - brown.  The nut is solitary, usually stalked and is 3/4 - 1 1/2" long. Very adaptable to various soils.
